Sales Engineer Mick Hodgson knew what he wanted to be from when he was “a young lad”.
He kick-started his career in engineering by serving a four apprenticeship in mechanical engineering with Reynold Gears in his home city of Bradford.
Mick got his first taste of technical sales when he moved to Drum Engineering, also in the city.
There his job revolved around petrol tankers and specifying the right drive units to power the pumps, compressors and hydraulics.
With a taste for sales Mick later went on to sell pumps and valves to chemical companies and factories, as well as doing a spot of trouble-shooting on site.
Now at HpE Mick’s aim is to sell as many pumps as possible while building lasting relationships with customers.
“I enjoy liaising with our customers, informing them of the vast range of stock available and getting them the best deal possible”, said Mick.
“But I also go over and above that and am on hand to offer any advice needed. I’m a techie at heart and really enjoy getting under the skin of problems that many of our customers are happy to pass on.”
When not at work Mick runs a football team which recently received a reward from the Mayor of Bradford; proof that Mick is a good coach as well as a valued member of HpE.
